Ridge is a plane open area , in the mid of Shimla. Form ridge scenic beauty of Shimla can be seen easily, there are few eating outlets there, in one corner of ridge the popular Christ church is situated.Ridge is basically main point of all the cultural activities of Shimla. It is connected to Mall Road of Shimla. The famous Jakhoo temple and snow don and mall etc are connected with ridge through roads.

 The ridge road also leads to Famous Lakkar bazaar of Shimla. Lakkar bazaar is a famous place for wooden items like wooden showpieces, wooden furniture and other house hold items. In winters during snow fall ridge gets covered with white snow .There are three statues of three Indian popular personalities that is Indira Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Y.s. Parmar . Y.S. Parmar was the first prime minister of Himachal Pardesh. All the government functions and fairs took place at Ridge.

Jakhoo Temple


Jakhoo Temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, it is an ancient temple situated in Shimla. There is a road path from Ridge to Jakhoo Temple. A big festival of Dushera is celebrated every year here. You can go by walking from ridge to Jakhoo Temple. There are a lot of monkeys near the temple, they are rarely harmful they just snatch the parsad from visitor.
